From Córdoba, Rafael Caivano and Lisandro Soma present their project Frikstailers: using electronic music as a base, the duo combines different sounds and vocals as if it were a game to make people move on the dancefloor. Thanks to their ability, they have toured around the US and Europe. In this week's Top 5, they tell us what bands have influenced and motivated them to outline their eclectic musical personality.
Solemn, danceable and surprising. The person in charge of the opening concert at the Cité de la Musique in Paris this year was Carl Craig, the emblematic DJ and producer from Detroit, who alongside the symphony orchestra Les siècles and the pianist Francesco Tristano formed an improbable alliance. Check out this unique combination of techno and classical music.
For the third time, Satoshi Tomiie is the main character in one of the compilation albums released by the British label Renaissance. The DJ and producer signed the new volume of the well-known series The Masters Series (in which Hernán Cattáneo also participated) to be released the next weeks.
Settled in Berlin since the last years of the 90's, Sascha Ring, better known as Apparat, started his career at the same time he funded the label Shitkatapult, the project he shares with T. Raumschmiere. Firstly, the German artist gave us his vision of ambient music, and then he traveled around the IDM galaxy carrying his melodies of intense sensations drawn from his love for techno and electro sounds.
During the mid 90's, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary were already playing at Berlin's underground clubs. But they decided to name the duo Modeselektor when they first played with a Roland RE-201 from which they managed to take analogical sounds out. However, their electronic magnetism —among grim, IDM and English garage — only gained international recognition when Ellen Allien recruited them to join her label Bpitch Control.
Next weekend, London's Fabric club will showcase the best techno, minimal, breaks and drum&bass sounds. A spectacular line-up was designed to celebrate its ninth anniversary: Martin Buttrich, DJ Hype and Luciano, among others, are some of the artists that will perform at this two-day special celebration.
Apart from the techno sound of the German capital city, the DJ and producer Ellen Allien has been setting the beat of Berlin techno look with her exclusive clothing collection for a couple of years. Comfortably casual garments, with clean lines and minimal colors, perfect to wear in clubs, at outdoor festivals or while walking around any European city. Take a look at her latest collection *PLUS*.

Since Mecha, George and Quique met while they were studying Visual Art, apart from sharing the same taste in music -which led them to form Manta Raya, - they also share the same aesthetic criterion, which is manifested in their live shows and in this list of artists with the best looks they have exclusively made for Flowmi, which includes photos specially picked by them.
