Using communication tools and developing daily products from their origin, design seems to be one of the first disciplines to be related to the new green trend. And that is the goal of Sustentable, the first Argentine design festival with environmental awareness, to be held from November 28 to December 2, 2008, at the Jardín Botánico of Buenos Aires.
The success of social networks goes out onto the streets thanks to the tech clothing designed by W-41. How? Each shirt created by the Dutch firm comes with a personal logo containing the codified link to the profile of the wearer's favorite social network. Capturing the logo with your cellphone camera you can see his/her profile and leave him/her a message.
Before releasing their new album, Dave 1 and P-Thugg, the Canadian artists from
Chromeo, designed a T-shirt in collaboration with the sophisticated French fashion house Surface to Air, the same firm that already has the duo Justice
among its designers. Their design consists in a limited edition T-shirt featuring the cover art of
Fancy Footwork (2007), their previous album. However, it is just
the beginning of an entire new collection.
On the street, we find the real fashion pioneers that combine clothes and accessories with a casual, sophisticated and organic style. Encouraged by the accessibility of blogs, this new tendency is established and there are a lot of sites that publish, one after the other, photos capturing the most personal and current looks in different cities around the world.
Not long ago, it seemed music videos have been expelled from the artistic paradise. Cool bands hated making them, MTV had stopped showing them, and innovative directors from Spike Jonze to Michel Gondry had long since moved on. Then, somewhere between OK Go's success on YouTube (more than 37 million views) and Feist choreography lesson turned into an iPod ad, music videos made a comeback. Meet this new generation of directors and their greatest hits.
"Some people make limited-edition records — we're making a limited-edition jacket," said Kim Gordon, Sonic Youth's bass player, to the New York Times as regards Mirror/Dash, the clothing line she has just launched that offers exclusive designs "for cool moms."
Apart from the techno sound of the German capital city, the DJ and producer Ellen Allien has been setting the beat of Berlin techno look with her exclusive clothing collection for a couple of years. Take a look at her latest collection *PLUS*.
The time of the year during which it is held is irrelevant:
a festival is not a festival without some mud. And
Creamfields UK 2008 was not an exception. The Hunter Wellies —
the boots that keep your feet dry with style — stood out again at the festival. Kate Moss wouldn't die without wearing hers and made them become a trend in festivals. Check out the photo gallery and pick your favorites.
Fashion is on the street. Under this premise and thanks to blogs, there appeared a new international movement that aims at

at its work, bursting with style.
