Using communication tools and developing daily products from their origin, design seems to be one of the first disciplines to be related to the new green trend. And that is the goal of Sustentable, the first Argentine design festival with environmental awareness, to be held from November 28 to December 2, 2008, at the Jardín Botánico of Buenos Aires.
3966 designers from 91 different countries participated in Green Earth, a graphic design contest that combines creativity and green conscience. Before releasing their new album, Dave 1 and P-Thugg, the Canadian artists from
Chromeo, designed a T-shirt in collaboration with the sophisticated French fashion house Surface to Air, the same firm that already has the duo Justice
among its designers. Their design consists in a limited edition T-shirt featuring the cover art of
Fancy Footwork (2007), their previous album. However, it is just
the beginning of an entire new collection.
The project Creative 30 is in its final stage. This English contest aims at discovering 30 young creative wonders that stand out in a wide range of creative disciplines, such as body art, journalism and furniture design. Vivienne Westwood, Wiley and Klaxon's James Righton are part of the panel of judges that will choose one of the two winners of the competition, since the other will be decided by the public's votes.
