For a restless artist such as Matthew Dear (he produces micro house and experimental electro pop under his name and techno under monikers like Audion, among others), making a compilation album is another way of expressing his constant aesthetic research. So, for the 7th volume of the Body Language series released on the German label Get Physical, the American DJ went over his hard disc files and made a CD mix that completely reflects his personality.

In Body Language Vol.7, MD makes fun of the ultra-requested tag minimal and, using resources from other genres and subgenres like tech, tribal and clicks & cuts, the 20 tracks included in the compilation (of which DJ Koze’s and Martinez’s productions and an exclusive re-edit of one of his tracks stand out) modify their deep house roots. Without having to use an euphoric beat, the owner of Spectral Sounds and Ghostly
Records tell us how the dancing experience is for him: deep, sensitive and sensual.
